PROJECT PIPELINE & BREAKDOWN

Here is an overview of what is included in your 3D project with a brief description

Story Boarding

A series of digital illustrations to communicate ideas to clients. It gives you & them ideas as to what the Animation will look like. It also provides a chance to evaluate the animation and make necessary changes before production starts.

Modelling

Objects, environments and characters are modelled in 3D space. Models can be created to replicate real life objects, which can then be utilised for a wide range of purposes. These include various industries, for example virtual reality, video games, 3D printing, marketing, TV, cinematic and manufacturing.

Texturing and Shading

Textures are applied to 3D models to provide colour and create the desired aesthetic look. Models can be made to look photo realistic with the Texturing process.

Rigging

Rigging is the creation of a skeleton, which is applied to a 3D model in order for them to be animated.

Animation

Animation of models, characters and cameras. This is the section of the pipeline where inanimate models are brought to life, given character and soul.

VFX

Includes all visual effects that are required, such as liquid, fire and smoke simulation.

Lighting

Lights are used inside the 3D space to illuminate a scene. This gives visibility to objects within a scene when rendered.

Rendering

Each animated scene has frames that are rendered out into individual images for compositing at a later stage of the pipeline. We usually work with a frame rate of 24 frames per second however the frame rate is flexible. We render images at HD 720 x 1280. It is of high enough quality for videos uploaded to both websites and YouTube. A HD 1080 output and higher is available but the rendering times increase considerably.

POST PRODUCTION

Compositing

All of the rendered images will be brought into a compositing software as image sequences. We composite every scene of an animation individually, adding additional animation and motion graphics, along with colour correction as necessary. Scenes are exported as separate movies.

Final output

Using compositing software, the final versions of the individual scenes are brought together. The sound effects, backing tracks and voice overs can be added at this stage. The final video is exported in a format of your choosing ready to show to your teams or clients.

Press Coverage

"..Phil Stout, previously Head of Innovation and Technology at Asda, now Director of Lets Innovate. I think it's safe to say, Phil's hologram product made everyone in the audience feel like they were in the set of Star Wars, when Princess Leia was beamed up through the hologram. You can't quite believe it......until you see it in person. Built in a way i can't even begin or try to explain, Phil is focused on changing and innovating the way retails stores and businesses communicate with their customers. This certainly will achieve that, and lure anyone and everyone in!"
